MIA & QUINCEY!

From  Mia's & Quinceys Folks:

"We were first introduced to SRECC at a Dog Show we attended back in September.    We had just lost our beloved Springer “Bailey” in July and missed her terribly.  She was our first introduction to the breed and she made us fall in love with them.  We decided we were ready to welcome another Springer into our family and went to the show in hopes of meeting with a breeder.

While walking around we came upon the SRECC booth and met Megan.  She told us about SRECC, the great work they do and of all the wonderful, deserving dogs that needed good homes.  She told us about a female they were in the process of trying to rescue from a puppy mill in Quebec.  From that moment on I couldn’t stop thinking about that dog even though I had never met or even seen her.  I came home and went on the website to get more information and filled out an application form.

On October 17th our six year old baby “Mia” joined our family.  What a treasure she is!!  She is a beautiful, smart, amazingly well adjusted, loveable, cuddly little dog.  She is doing tremendously well and seemed to settle in so quickly.  She loves going in the car, walks in the park, plays occasionally with her toys but mostly she likes her treats and cuddling.  She is true to her breed and loves the birds!! 

We were so impressed with Mia and the people at SRECC that when we heard some puppies were up for adoption we thought Mia might like a companion and decided to add an 11 week old baby boy “Quincy” to our family. 

He arrived on November 14th.  Our “little man” is a sweetheart, so loveable and cuddly, smart as a whip (he took no time to train) and loves to play!!  He plays with every toy. He is growing like a weed and is up to 34 lbs already.

Mia and Quincy are getting along extremely well.  Mia plays much more now that he has arrived.  She started playing with her toys more (although Quincy usually takes them from her – he hasn’t quite grasped the “share” thing yet).  Mia is so great with him, she is very easy going and tolerant.

They really enjoy running in the yard together and have indoor wrestling bouts several times a day which we have nicknamed the “UCC” (Ultimate Canine Championship).  They are so fun to watch at play and really seem to enjoy each other.

The only issue we have is that they are both real “bed hogs” and we can see a King Size bed in our future."
